Have you been admiring the edgy, yet sophisticated, street style look, but not quite sure how you can incorporate it into your own closet? Let me tell you…….IT CAN BE SUPER SIMPLE. Follow these few tips to help you master the look.

  1. Mix Edgy with Classy– This is the best place to start. Think about a piece you really enjoy wearing that is a little on the dressy side and pair it with something that is edgy. Let’s take a tulle skirt for example. If you were to wear this with a blouse and heels it would be perfect for a wedding, but instead think of pairing it with a band tee or a statement tee. This has completely transformed the look.
  2. The Shoes– The shoes will make all the difference. You can take, almost, any pair of shoes and make them work with street style. The secret is what you pair it with. You can wear a pair of heels with cropped ripped jeans, a tee and a blazer and have the perfect street look or you can take a dress or skirt and throw on an edgy pair of boots (like I did in the photos above). Tennis shoes are also a must in street style. You can wear a cute pair of platform tennis shoes with a dress or with a pair of distressed denim and a blouse.
  3. Accessorize– Take your outfit to the next level by picking out the right accessories. Right now, the hottest trend is a combat/fiddler’s hat. This will help give any outfit amazing street style vibes. You can also throw on a belt. My friends, it is all about statement belts. You can find these pretty much any where, but my faves are the following: the Gucci belt and tucked “western”belt.

Trust me, if you start by following these tips, you will soon be able to throw together looks like a pro. All you need is a little bit of inspiration (mine is currently London Fashion Week), creativity, and confidence. Now, go and explore your #chardonnaystyle. By the way…..this dress is only $15 from SHEIN.

Cheers,

Taylor
