Lately, I have been getting so many questions about my beauty routine (hair, makeup, skincare and everything in between) I thought an FAQ would be the best way to answer all of your questions. Well……let’s get started.

Skincare

Tips to have hydrated moisturized skin in the winter– This is such a great question. I feel like the dry winter air can just suck the moisture from your skin. I am not an expert by any means, but here is what I do to keep my skin healthy in the winter.

  1. Drink a green smoothie a few times a week with added matcha collagen powder. I got this recipe from Joanna Vargas and it is magic. 1 cup Spinach, 1 cup Kale, 1 cup ice, 1 cup coconut water, 1/2 cup greek yogurt, 1 banana, 1 scoop Vital Protein Matcha Collagen powder.
  2.  Use moisturizing face masks religiously. Personally, I use Joanna Vargas, Starskin and Glam Glow masks. Be careful not to over do it with the masks. There are usually recommended amount of times per week the masks should be used.
  3. Invest in a good moisturizer and cleanser. The OGEE products are phenomenal. I have been using the Liquid Gold Cleansing oil, Seeds of Youth Serum, and the Jojoba Face Oil for the past few weeks and they leave my skin glowing and healthy. They are all natural and organic products. I like to layer on a moisturizing cream as well. The Charlotte’s Magic Cream is so perfect for this. It is light weight and is literally a face lift in a jar!

How do you control your breakouts?– I wish I had a good answer for this. I get breakouts like everyone else and it seems like mine are linked to changing hormones during my cycle. To best prevent/treat breakouts I wash my face with the Joanna Vargas Ritual bar when I shower and on non-shower days I wash my face with Ogee’s liquid gold cleansing oil. For spot treatment, I use good old Clean and Clear Persa Gel.

What’s Your Diet? – I have this question under skincare because what you eat and drink can change the way your skin looks. I mostly eat plant based meals, but also eat eggs and fish. Jason and I try to stay away from eating any fried or processed food and also keep our meals very low carb. I do have occasional pastry at a coffee shop, but that is about it for carbs. The more veggies you eat the better.

Makeup

What is your favorite makeup brand?– ATM, it is Charlotte Tilbury, Dior and Chanel. They are so high quality and totally worth the extra money.

What eyeliner do you use?– I am currently using The Feline Flick by Charlotte Tilbury. If I want a more smokey natural look, I use Trestique’s Eye Pencil.

What are your favorite lipsticks?– I have a few favs right now. I get the most questions when I wear Smashbox liquid lipstick in the color Driver’s Seat. It is the perfect color for every season. I also wear Bitch Perfect and Red Carpet Red by Charlotte Tilbury.

How do you change up your makeup for the holidays?– To be honest, I do not change very much to my makeup for the changing of the seasons. I have been wearing a red lip this holiday season though, to add a little Christmas spirit to my face, haha.

Hair

Where do you get your hair done?– The one and only Javier Juarez cuts, colors, and styles my hair at the SALT salon. He is seriously the best of the best. If you are within driving distance…..YOU NEED TO SEE HIM!

How do you style your fringe?– I style my fringe with a t3 micro hair dryer and comb. I NEVER use a flat iron on my fringe because they end up looking stringy…flat…and weird.

What are your favorite hair products?– I have a lot of favorites but I am currently obsessing over the Oribe Royal Blowout, Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, Ouai Dry Shampoo, and the Ouai Shampoo and Conditioner.

What hair tools do you use?– I use all T3 Micro tools. I use their Cura hair dryer, Twirl Trio curling iron, and the Single Pass Luxe flat iron.

How do you keep your hair healthy and shiny? I try to wash my hair only a few times a week and also use high quality products. Using a heat protectant is key! I also like to take the HUM Hair Sweet Hair vitamin (they taste super yummy).

How do you decide when to change up your style?– This is definitely a personal preference. I like to change it once I am getting sick of the old one. I also like to follow the current hair trends and make sure I am still on the ball. When I feel like my hair is out of date, I will change it up.
