Now that we are deep into the freezing winter months, it is more important than ever to be caring for your skin. I made the mistake of slacking on skincare and paid the price. My skin became dehydrated and broke out LIKE CRAZY! With this skincare routine, I was able to bring my skin back to it’s glowing self while treating the acne scarring from my horrendous breakout. The reason why I am such a fan of this routine, and probably why it has been working so well, is because I am treating my skin from the inside and on the outside. That’s right….getting it from every angle.

Let me start by walking you through my routine.

  1. Remove MakeupBioderma Sensibo H2O and Klorane remover wipes have been my current go-to products!
  2. Wash face (AM/PM)- I have been using the ritual bar from Joanna Vargas, but recently ran out and switched to the Sea Kelp Leaf Cleansing foam.
  3. Mask (AM or PM)- When my skin is need of a little extra TLC, I like to incorporate a mask into my routine. Lately, I have been using the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask or one of the masks from Go to Glow mask sets. Another mask fav is the Glam Glow Gravity Mud mask.
  4. Exfoliate 2x/week (AM)– The Joanna Vargas Exfoliating mask has been a game changer. This has been so helpful in clearing up my skin and fading my acne scars.
  5. Essence Spray (AM/PM)LAPCOS Facial Mist Pink Essences helps hydrate and detoxify the skin.
  6. Serums (AM/PM) Joanna Vargas Rescue Serum (AM) is a miracle serum!!! It’s on the spendier side, but potent! A little goes a long way. This serum will “rescue” your skin from the winter air. Rejuvenating Serum is amazing and is loaded with oils that will transform your dull skin. Personally, I like to use a jade roller to massage in the extra serum. The jade roller is a great way to increase lymphatic drainage and decrease puffiness in your face.
  7. Eye Brightener (AM/PM)– Skin Authority’s Eye Brightener is the perfect way to brighten up your tired eyes.
  8. Spot Treatment (AM/PM)– We all get an unwanted pimple that shows up out of the blue. The Peter Thomas Roth Acne Spot and Area Treatment is the best spot treatment I have tried! It is slightly stinky due to the sulfur in it, but it does the job like no other.
  9. Moisturizer– For the past few months I have been swearing by Charolette Tilbury’s Magic Cream. Your skin will honestly feel more hydrated as soon as you put it on.

Now that we addressed the topical routine for your skin, let’s talk about how give your skin a glow from the inside out.

During the holidays I was eating a lot of things that were not great for my skin (candy, carbs, and pretty much whatever I wanted). Having a clean diet is one of the most important building blocks of glowing. Along with cleaning up my diet, I started adding a Joanna Vargas green smoothie to my routine (Recipe Below). It is also SUPER important to drink water throughout the day!

  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 cup kale
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup greek yogurt
  • 1 scoop Vital Proteins Matach Collagen Powder
  • 1 Tsp of honey

Keeping your skin healthy and glowing in the middle of winter can be a nightmare, but this routine will help your skin be radiant! It has saved my skin and I was too obsessed not to share it with you.
